"Formose Phonique" est un voyage initiatique. La voix d’une vieille femme guide une jeune fille dans sa recherche d’une pierre. La bande sonore repose sur deux langues : le chinois mandarin, langue officielle, et l’Atayal, langue aborigène originaire de l’île et parlé par une petite communauté. Pris dans un va et vient entre la vidéo et la bande sonore, le paysage se dessine, entre espace réel et espace mental.
Inspiré d’un extrait des «Villes invisibles» de Italo Calvino, le récit de la quête devient une métaphore de ma propre découverte de l’île de Taïwan.
Les prises de son ont été réalisées à Taipei, dans le village Hakka de Miaoli et dans la vallée où vit la tribu aborigène Atayal, les Jianshi.
Ce travail a eu lieu dans le cadre d'une résidence au Digital Art Center de Taipei avec le GRAME (centre de création musicale) et l'ENSBA Lyon.

The voice of an old lady guides a young girl in the search for a stone. Back and forth between the video and the soundtrack, the scenery comes to life between physical and meta physical space. The essence of the video originates from applied arts, or the mnémotechny. Appearing in the invisible cities by Italo Calvino, and described by Cicerone in Da oratore. Therefore, the reconstitution of a mental space allows us to learn a
discourse, an exercise leading to the transformation of an object into idea or image and vice versa. Here, the search of the object finds his resolution in the acceptation of its dematerialization. This poetic undertone evoking our 2.0 reality quickly became a metaphor for my own discovery on the island of Taiwan.
The sound recording was made in Taipei, in the village of Hakka of Miaoli and in the valley where lives the Aboriginal tribe Atayal, the Jianchi.
This work took place during a Residency in the digital Art center of Tapei with The GRAME (Center for musical creation) and l’ENSBA of Lyon.
